New York Harbor
On July 1st 2015, BZH New York was the first to have welcomed the HERMIONE‘s arrival into New York’s Harbor, accompanying the beautiful vessel from the Verrazano bridge to South Street Seaport in Manhattan.
This offered us the opportunity to take some unique pictures of the HERMIONE making her way to the island of Manhattan, and we are proud to share them with you here, along with a little bit of history about the vessel and Marquis de LAFAYETTE.

4:20 AM : NEW YORK CITY
Are we dreaming that we are already on the HERMIONE ? Are we hearing the noise of the big canons firing ?
… No, it’s a severe thunderstorm over Manhattan. Time to get to reality and to wake up, even though this thunderstorm woke us up earlier than our alarm clock.
Will it continue to rain or not…shall we go or not?
A storm never stopped LA FAYETTE, it won’t stopped a handful of Bretons in New York!
6:00 AM : PIER 25 TRIBECA
The Smartboat is here waiting for us to, our captain Laurent A. is ready! 2 more Laurents, Alan and Eric are showing up, we are good to go.
We can go under this grey sky crossing fingers that the storm went away

6:30 AM : JERSEY CITY
Olivier B. where are you ? We all know you came from far away but we are waiting for you. Here you are, we see you with the flags you brought with you : the Breton Flag, the American one, the Celtic nations one… and last but not least the, 2 BZH New York flags.
7:15 AM : LA FAYETTE nous voilà
HERMIONE where are you hiding? In Sandy Hook?
Here you are, between the Verrazano Bridge and Coney Island.
Oh what a beauty ! The Smartboat is going all around, the crew enjoying this unique moment.
7:30 AM: CAPTAIN… A L’ABORDAGE !
We are coming to you HERMIONE, here we are with one more passenger on the Smartboat. We could touch you HERMIONE while your photograph Francis joins our happy crew to escort you to New York City.
8:00 AM : VERRAZANO BRIDGE
The HERMIONE is ready to enter in Manhattan Harbor. This beauty is sailing under the Verrazano bridge and is now looking for Miss Liberty.
MANHATTAN in the background, mixture of modernism and ancient… Mixture of colors between the sun shines, the sometimes grey, sometimes blue sky… It looks unreal but the sudden canons’ sound of the HERMIONE approaching South Street seaport is here to wake us up.
It’s no more a dream… Here we are in Manhattan and the HERMIONE has arrived.
