The 2023 Edition of the Kouign Amann Contest was a great success !

If you were one of the lucky visitors last year, you probably remember the delicious pastries that the passionate participants meticulously prepared. And you probably didn’t miss the magic association of butter and sugar which creates the signature of this legendary breton cake. If you did not try this unforgettable culinary experience yet, no worries. Keep Sunday, 13th of October, free of any activity which might prevent you from tasting what Brittany is truly made of.  Because, yes, one year after, it is time to wipe the slate clean, and to ask once more : Who makes the best Kouign Amann of New-York?

This year the event is taking a new dimension as it will take place in the well-known Chelsea market ! Hosted by Eat Offbeat, a restaurant serving meals from around the word conceived, prepared & delivered by refugees, in their adjacent space. And on this day, the magic will happen : Several pastry chefs will present and distribute their Kouign Amann to the public and a professional jury, who while both vote to elect the “Best 2024 Kouign Amann of NYC”. While the professional jury selects the “Best traditional Kouign Amann”, the public will vote for their favorite Kouign-Amann and elect the “Prix du public”. The event will open at 12pm, public votes will go until 4pm and the results announced by 4:30pm. So be sure to savor each Kouign Amann and cast your vote !
