BZH New York is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which aims to build a bridge between the region of Brittany, France and New York and foster relationship between the 2 regions.

The association, managed by volunteers, promotes the culture, economy and tourism of the Brittany in New York.

Supported by 150 members and partners, it offers a framework and resources to achieve the following projects:

Connecting Breton and Celtic communities in

New York

• Pay homage to the “Stade Breton” and Bretons who immigrated to New York in  1950s and 1960s.
• Network with Breton association around the globe.
• Develop exchanges among the Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Asturian, Galician and Manx communities in New York.

… Identity and Culture

• Promote Breton culture through language, music, art and history.
• Identify Brittany as one of the celebrated Celtic nations.
• Produce cultural events highlighting Breton artists in New York.
• Create opportunities for collaboration between Breton and American artists.

… Economy

• Highlight the diverse and innovative Breton economy.
• Provide Breton business people with logistical support and introductions to professional networks in New York (exhibitions, meetings).
• Attract and encourage Americans to invest in Brittany.

… Tourism

• Promote Brittany as a major tourist destination in France, highlighting gastronomy and seaside attraction.
• Inform New Yorkers about the world-famous summertime festivals in Brittany.
• Features Brittany’s incredible legends, traditions and historical heritage.

Are you a Breton artist or entrepreneur planning a trip to New York? If so, we encourage you to contact BZH New York prior to arriving in the Big Apple so that we can provide assistance where possible and spread the word among our local contacts to ensure that your project is successful!

More broadly, BZH New York is happy to help all Bretons and friends of Brittany visiting or living in New York where and when we can. This includes:

•Helping artists from Brittany to organize concerts, exhibitions, as well as other cultural and artistic events in New York.

•Providing assistance in supplement to that of specialized French services and associations (such as the Consulate, Chamber of Commerce, etc) to help Breton entrepreneurs and professionals to develop their businesses in New York.

•Putting tourists from Brittany planning a trip to New York in contact with our extensive network of travel specialists and hospitality experts to help them make the most of their time in the City.
